Wilson Staff Set For January 2015 Release of New D200 SuperLight

CHICAGO, – The new D200™ family from Wilson Staff, designed for the Distance player seeking distance and accuracy, blends The Right Light technology™ with other groundbreaking club head technologies.

Each of the clubs in the new D200 family embodies The Right Light™ technology, which optimally
positions limited available mass to create a powerful, balanced, solid-feeling and sounding golf club.
Wilson Staff research and testing shows that players of all calibers benefit from swinging lighter clubs because they apply the same amount of effort, but achieve greater distances due to increased club head and ball speeds.

“For us, it’s not just about being lightweight,” explains Michael Vrska, Global Director of Innovation. “The challenge with engineering The Right Light is optimizing the limited available mass for proper distribution among the head, shaft and grip to achieve the best performance for each club. Using our research from the predecessor D100 family, we continued to innovate The Right Light and fuse it with other advanced technologies, like adjustability in the new D200 driver.”

D200 Drivers (MAP: $299.99)
With a total mass of just 268 grams, the D200 driver is one of the lightest and fastest adjustable drivers on the market.

  • Reactive Face Technology increases the size of the face to provide more forgiveness on heel and toe impacts and increased MOI, and decreases the thickness around the lower half of the face to increase ball velocities on mishits.
  • A chemically-etched crown reduces weight and increases the thickness toward the face for structural support and durability.
  • Each 6-way adjustable hosel features three loft and three draw settings to optimize both launch angle and left-to-right ball flight. 9.0o, 10.5o and 13.0o models are available in right hand and the 10.5 o head is available in left hand.
  • SuperLight™ technology (achieved with a 189-gram head, a 44-gram UST Mamiya Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip) allows golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
  • The Right Light™ technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the driver’s limited available mass with a chemically-etched crown and a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.

D200 Fairway Woods (MAP: $249.99)
Maximum distance from the tee, fairway or rough can be obtained by the Carpenter Custom 455 maraging steel face insert combined with The Right Light technology.

  • The premium Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert creates a thin, hot, high CT face for increased ball speeds and longer distances.
  • An increase in face area, especially in the heel and toe areas, promotes forgiveness and improved ball speeds on off-center hits.
  • Rounded sole designs yield versatility from all playing conditions.
  • 3- (15.0o), 5- (18.0o) and 7-wood (21.0o) models are available in right hand and 3- (15.0o) and 5-wood (18.0o) models are available in left hand.
  • SuperLight technology (achieved with a 49-gram UST Mamiya Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip) allows golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
  • The Right Light technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the fairway wood’s limited available mass with a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.

D200 Hybrids (MAP: $179.99)
Maximum distance and versatility can be obtained by the Carpenter Custom 455 maraging steel face design combined with The Right Light technology.

  • The premium Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert creates a thin, hot, high CT face for increased ball speeds and longer distances.
  • An increase in face area, especially near the toe, promotes forgiveness and improved ball speeds on off-center hits.
  • Larger volume on stronger lofted heads provides forgiveness on longer shots.
  • More bulge (face curvature) in stronger-lofted heads transitions to flatter faces on weaker-lofted heads provide optimal gear effect and accuracy.
  • Multiple stock loft options perfectly distance-gap the set through custom fitting.
  • 2- (17 o), 3- (19.0 o), 4- (21.0 o), 5- (23.0 o), 6- (25.0 o) and 7-hybrid (27.0o) models are available in right hand and 3- (19.0 o), 4- (21.0 o) and 5-hybrid (23.0 o) models are available in left hand.
  • A 54-gram UST Mamiya Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip allow golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
  • The Right Light technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the hybrid’s limited available weight with a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.

D200 Irons (MAP: $599.99 steel | $699.99 graphite)
Headlined by a new innovation called Speed Sole Technology™, a thin face-to-sole transition allows the D200s to create driver-like CTs.

  • Speed Sole Technology creates a thin face-to-sole transition, yielding a 234 CT and an increase in ball speed.
  • Weight savings from the face and sole is redistributed to the heel and toe weight pods for increased MOI and forgiveness.
  • Set makeup consists of 4-PW/GW steel (R- and S- flex) or graphite (A-, R- and S- flexes) available in both right and left hand.
  • A 59-gram UST Mamiya Elements Chrome graphite shaft or an 85-gram True Temper SL85 steel shaft allow golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
  • The Right Light technology, achieved through the redistribution of mass to heel and toe weight pods, allows golfers to make a balanced, solid-feeling swing.

UST Mamiya Elements Chrome Shaft Technology
The technologies within the UST Mamiya Elements Chrome woods, hybrid and iron shafts produce distance and accuracy for each club.

  • State-of-the-art carbon fiber features high end, mirror finish ion plating from the mid-section to the tip end to provide a premium look and performance.
  • Recoil Technology optimizes the spring effect and promotes the most efficient energy transfer from butt to tip to maximize ball speed and reduce ball dispersion.
  • Variable Wall Thickness technology create layers of graphite in each section of the shaft that vary for enhanced feel and better control and accuracy.
  • All shafts are available in A-, R- and S-flexes.

“The new D200 is lighter than the D100 even with adjustability,” comments Mathias Lundblad, Product Line Manager – Premium Clubs and Balls. “It allows Distance players to swing the Right Light on a loft setting that optimizes their trajectory. We’re excited to see their results.”

F-C-D Player Profiling System
Wilson Staff developed the F-C-D system to meet the technology needs of every golfer. Defining players into three categories, Feel, Control and Distance, this system matches club features and benefits with individual playing styles. The Distance player is defined as the golfer needing power, accuracy and a confidence-inspiring look at address.
