ORLANDO, Fla., March 12, 2014 -- Monday night’s third episode of Big Break Florida (21st season of Golf Channel’s Big Break reality competition 11-part series) garnered an average of 441,000 viewers, making it the most-watched Big Break episode as well as the most-watched episode premiere of any Golf Channel “original series" - surpassing The Haney Project with Charles Barkley in March, 2009 (435,000 viewers) and Feherty with Lee Trevino in June, 2011 (368,000 viewers).
- Despite not featuring live golf coverage, Golf Channel was the 2nd-highest rated sports network Monday night from 9-10 p.m. ET behind ESPN.
- Monday’s Big Break Florida episode was +63% vs. Big Break Mexico episode 3 in Spring, 2013 and +67% vs. Big Break NFL Puerto Rico episode 3 in Fall, 2013.
- Most-watched Big Break episode in 17 seasons since Golf Channel began reporting official daily ratings in 2006, beginning with Big Break V: Hawaii.
Big Break Florida is the 21st season of Golf Channel’s longest running original series. This season features a cast of 12 female aspiring professional golfers who are competing for more than $175,000 in cash and prizes – the largest collection of prizes in series history – and an opportunity to play on the LPGA TOUR at the 2014 Manulife Financial LPGA Classic.
