Bridgestone Invitational - Fantasy Picks

WGC Bridgestone Invitational:
Location: Akron, Ohio
Course: Firestone Country Club
Par: 70
Length: 7,400 yards
Prize Pool: $8,750,000
Last Years Champion: Keegan Bradley

The third of the 2013 WGC events is upon us with an awesome field this week.  The pressure continues to mount and we're well into the 2013 PGA Tour season, and the competition continues to mount.  As a result, this week we're looking at one of the most talented field of the season.  After review to lineup, here's a look at my top picks this week:

Tiger Woods:  Outside of Bay Hill, Woods has dominated no other course as he has Firestone. Seven wins, the most recent coming in 2009, and a tie for eighth last year create an unrivaled set of credentials this week. Injury concerns were (largely) answered with his T-6 finish at Muirfield, and Woods' placement this week as an overwhelming favorite is justified.

Keegan Bradley:  The defending champion quietly notched a T-15 result in Scotland and also tied for 15th in this event in 2011. Bradley has yet to enter the winner's circle yet this year, but his solid 2013 campaign includes 10 top-25 finishes in 19 starts. Expect more of the same this week in Akron.

Jason Day:  The Aussie has recorded a solid finish in each of his three starts in this event, most notably a tie for fourth in 2011. With top-three finishes at each of the first two majors this year, Day clearly enjoys performing on the game's biggest stages; though he's been battling minor injury over the past few weeks, it hasn't stopped him from notching solid finishes at both the AT&T National (T-21) and British Open (T-32) since his runner-up at Merion.

Rickie Fowler:  If the commercial is to be believed, Fowler may be color blind but that won't stop him from posting plenty of red at Firestone CC. The 2011 runner-up here has three consecutive top-25 finishes on U.S. soil and, at 45th in the FedExCup, needs to make a move to get back to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

Steve Stricker:  With a good history at the Bridegestone Invitational, I think this could be Strickers week to shine.

Here's a look at my completed fantasy golf picks:
