Tampa Bay Championship - Fantasy Picks

Tampa Bay Championship - Fantasy Picks

Tampa Bay Championship:
Location: Palm Harbor, Florida
Course: Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead Course)
Par: 71
Length: 7,340 yards
Prize Pool: $5,500,000
Last Years Champion: Luke Donald

The PGA Tour continues its stretch of Florida events with this weeks Tampa Bay Championship.  Last week at the WGC Cadillac Championship we saw some great golf, and I think we're in store for even more high caliber golf this week.  Looking through this weeks field there are some players who stand out more than others, who I fully expect to have a great week ahead.  Here's a look at my top picks:

Luke Donald (@lukedonald): Last years defending champion returns this year still in search of his first 2013 victory.  Although win-less this season, he continues to demonstrate a stellar short game make which makes him an ideal candidate for this course.

Jason Day: I've enjoyed watching Jason Day play so far this season, and have definitely seen some glimmers of greatness.  With four starts so far this season on the PGA Tour, Day has two top 10 finishes.  I'll be watching for him to have a great week.

Sergio Garcia (@thesergiogarcia):  Garcia played awesome last week finishing T-3 and has also played well in his last two appearances at Innisbrook finishing in the top 20 both times.

Adam Scott: Like Garcia, Scott finished in a tie for third at Doral last week, firing the lowest score of the week with a closing 64.  I think he will continue to climb the rankings as he settles into the 2013 season and finds his groove.

Graham Delaet (@grahamdelaet):  Graham Delaet is another play that has shown glimmers of greatness so far this season.  As my favorite Canadian golfer, I'll be secretly rooting for Graham in this event and throughout the remainder of the season.

Webb Simpson (@webbsimpson1): Another player who has a history of playing well in Tampa, Simpson has finished inside the top 15 each of the last three years.  Simpson is playing well this season, with 7 Tour starts and 5 top 20 results.
