Golf Drones - Soaring Above the Fairways

I agree, this sounds like something straight out of a Sci-Fi film, but golf drones are the real deal.  These hi-tech aerial devices, called drones or quad copters, are not only raising the bar within the photography realm but are finding their place in many other industries.  For obvious reasons, we're particularly interested in their application within the wonderful world of golf.

Until recently, golf course aerial photographs and video fly-overs were a very costly and complex proposition.  In many cases this required the rental of a full sized helicopter, airplane or blimp, which as you can imagine, none of which are economical options.  Enter the golf drone, weighing in at approximately 1 foot cubed in size, which is proving to be a much more effective and efficient alternative.  Don't be fooled by its' relatively small stature, every inch of this flying machine is packed with cutting edge technology.  Mounted with an on board high definition camera, capable of shooting in 1080HD resolution, these contraptions (when piloted by a professional) are nimble and able to capture stunning high-definition photographs and video footage.

With a range of around 400 vertical feet and about 450 yards, drones have quickly been gaining popularity in the golf industry.  One company, Golf Aerials, has been on the leading edge of this trending technology.  Focused solely on the golf industry, Golf Aerials provides a variety of aerial packages to golf courses across North America.  Options range from still shot photography packages, course promo videos, hole-by-hole video fly-overs and more.

I'm sure we'll continue to see the popularity of drones fly to new heights.  To me, it's a no-brainer for golf course operators, allowing them to professionally showcase their facility through a series of aerial videos (at a fraction of the cost of past alternatives).
