Tiger & Rory - Friends or Rivals?

Friends? Rivals? CNN’s Rachel Nichols recently sat down with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, two of the golfing world’s most recognizable players, to discuss a range of topics, including the pair’s unique relationship.

Tiger stated that he and Rory are “first rivals”, adding that the two have gotten “to know each other over the last few years and have become pretty good friends.”

And as for Rory’s taking over as the new face of golf: “it’s big shoes to fill that’s for sure. I’m sure when [Tiger] gets healthy again he’ll continue to be up there challenging for majors, but while he’s out I’ve tried to take over the mantle somewhat,” he said.
