The Barclays
The Barclays kicks off this week at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey and the competition looks fierce.
For those who aren't familiar with the format, the Barclays tournament is part of the FedEx Cup and is considered one of four "playoff" tournaments. The field for this event is determined based on FedEx Cup rankings, where only the top 125 players on the points list are eligible. The other playoff tournaments include the Deutsche Bank Championship (where only the top 100 players qualify), the BMW Championship (70 players qualify) and The Tour Championship (only 30 players qualify).
Here's a quick look at the details for The Barclays in 2010:
Course: Ridgewood Country Club
Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Par: 71
Prize Money: $7,500,000
Last Years Winner: Heath Slocum @ -9
The competition is looking intense with many of golfs top names entered for this tourney, and with several players still fighting for a spot on the Ryder Cup Team, you won't want to miss this weekends coverage. Based on our initial analysis, a few players we'll be on the lookout for include, Rickie Fowler, Camilo Villegas, Heath Slocum and Tiger Woods.
